neutrals with texture…

Hello Dear Friends,

The newest challenge at Double “D” Challenges is a departure that called for some creative muscle! The theme is neutral + texture. I love the look of burlap and white together and I’m especially fond of the contrast of texture in the burlap against lacy die cut edges and flourishing stamping details…

Using a gatefold as my card base, I layered the front panels with paper backed burlap. Two die cut circles were layered and then stamped with three different, lacy, circular designs in two neutral shades. I cut the layered circles down the center and then lined the cut edges with the outside folds. A length of hand dyed seam binding was adhered to the back panel of the card and used to keep the front panels closed…

Just for good measure, I die cut and stamped two twigs with the same two ink colors (complete product information will be at the very end of this post), and tucked them into the bow…

What I like about this card is that it’s a great base for a birthday, anniversary, thank you, friendship, wedding or love card! It’s also convenient because it can be sent in a flat envelope.

I hope you will join us for this challenge. Here’s a great source of inspiration…
