lavender & lace…

Welcome! The newest Double ‘D’ Challenge is called ‘Lavender and Lace’. What fabulous inspiration that brings to mind. For some odd reason, my first thought was about wisteria! I had a stamp set that hadn’t seen ink in awhile and one of the elements in the set was for wisteria…I guess it was floating around in my mind.

I began with a new, unused, leafy mask and some modeling paste. Rather than cover the entire background, I taped off the portion I wanted to use and added this gorgeous texture to the white panel that would be carrying the design. When it was dry, I used a sponge applicator to apply distress ink. Then I stamped some leafy sprigs (in periwinkle distress ink), behind the area that would hold the raised wisteria vines. I die cut a couple of wisteria sections, stamped and arranged them to overlap and then popped them up on adhesive foam…

The sweet little decorative sign board was in the same set. After stamping the decorative border and sentiment, it was adhered with a double thick layer of adhesive tape so that it would be raised higher than the wisteria…

A length of lavender and white bakers twine was wrapped twice around the white card stock and a simple bow finishes the card.

So now, look at this beautiful inspiration board and see what it brings to your mind and hands!

Thank you very much for stopping by and my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your gracious and kind comments! They mean so much to me~

Morning Rebecca, Beautifully done card–soft colors but lots of texture for interest. Loved your design to use modeling paste on half of the card only and varying the raised elements. I never would have thought of using baker’s twine but it adds so much. Again another spot on design by you. Thanks for sharing. Barbara
