make it yellow…

Hello everyone. It is so nice to be typing this post and thinking about all the wonderful blog friends that I have made through the years. Life as a full time teacher has gobbled up my life, leaving little in the way of hours or energy to devote to other tasks, so I’m delighted to make some time at the craft table! The Double D Challenge is about yellow, a lovely color that I rarely use. There is a beautiful yellow tea rose that is currently in bloom in the garden. It grows on such long lovely stems and takes its’ time unfurling lemony petals. When I made this card a couple of weeks ago, the yellow rose bush wasn’t in bud. If it had been, there surely would be a yellow rose at the center of the card today 😉 I pulled a number of favorite stamp sets to include in this sunny birthday card…

I plucked some patterned papers from my scrap drawer, adding some small stamping to a printed burlap bit. A garden tag along with a stamped postcard help to deliver the message. The little bird is from an old stamp set that doesn’t see ink often enough…

A paper doily and a bow made from one of my favorite batches of multicolored, hand dyed seam binding were the final embellishments, This challenge does remind me of the lovely, sunny and cheerful color that I too often leave behind! I hope you will join us in the Double D Challenge.

Wishing you sunshine and flowers,
