BOO-rific…

Hello dear friends. It’s wonderful experiencing all of the perks of autumn! Along with October come challenges with Halloween themes. The newest Shabby Tea Room challenge is called BOO-rific. Using Paper SweetiesToo Cute to Spook‘ stamp set I created a Halloween wand for a little trick or treater and a card…

The jack o’lantern was stamped onto white card stock and colored, leaving just the smile and eyes white. A witches’ hat was cut free hand and embellished with some silk ribbon and a black feather. The sentiment was stamped twice and cut freeform in two parts, then adhered to the background…

Some purple glitter around the outside edge and some clear rhinestones colored black with a Copic marker added some fun…

On the back, I adhered some silver garland, letting the strands peek over the edge. Want to take a guess what I used for the handle of this little wand? Well, it’s a chopstick! Colored with the same black marker as the rhinestones. I didn’t want to wait for paint to dry!  The multi-loop bow is simply tied on. This card is a rare thing for me…all black and white with no color! The pumpkin was again stamped onto white and just the eyes and smile were colored in. Using a Q-Tip, I removed the ink from the nose and hands before stamping. I cut a second witches’ hat, added the bow (sans feather) and adhered it to the layers I created, using different patterns and adding texture in the gathered crepe paper and band of black ribbon.

I hope this inspiration photo will spark some ideas for this challenge…
