victorian cats and dogs…

Hello and welcome.  My Artistic Achievements begins the second challenge of the month today and it’s an ‘Anything Goes’ challenge!  Using Heather’s ‘Vintage Chic Victorian Cats and Dogs‘ file, I made a quick set of 4 notecards and envelopes…

Using a round punch, I prepped 4 of the images from the digital sheet.  Each circular image has a die cut doily behind it.  To reduce the time needed, I grabbed 4 different dies and cut them out in one pass, from some yummy bronze-y card stock.  A scrap of digital paper was used to make the dotted banners, which were placed on slightly larger white banners.  Another punch was used to make the 5 petaled flowers (also punched out of a scrap of dotted aqua paper), were distressed with a soft brown ink…

Because it’s quicker to make cards in assembly line fashion, the cards all have a kraft card base and a background panel of cocoa touched with a pinstripe of dotted white…

The warm, coordinating, antique colors of the backgrounds that surround each furry friend, made the choices of card colors so easy…

I am fond of this sad, serious Westie’s face!  Not the typical, sugary sweet pup~ All these furry darlings have character!

Just a single stamp on each of the envelopes, made with watermark ink (Versamark), elevates these from the ordinary.  This sweet set will be gifted to a young girl that I work with, who loves animals.  Wrapped simply in clear film, with some gel pens held by a ribbon, this very small gift will remind her that she is important to me.

I hope you will join us for this wide open challenge!

Blessings and hugs,
