beautiful blooms…

Hello and welcome.  It’s less than two weeks ’til spring!!  As hard as this winter has been in so much of the country, spring will come!  It arrived earlier than usual here in the, ‘Valley of the Sun’, but even for snow packed, subzero spots like Boston, the sun and warmth are on the way~

At The Shabby Tea Room, the newest challenge #248, is called ‘Beautiful Blooms’ and is sponsored by Crafty Secrets

I used two wonderful, digital papers from Crafty secrets.  The background is from the ‘Garden Paper‘ collection.  The banners were punched from a paper printed from the ‘Radiant Papers‘ collection.  Both of these digital collections are brimming with gorgeous paper designs.  These sheets were printed onto standard 8-1/2 x 11″ paper, though they will print in a 12 x 12″ format if your printer has this capability.

Here is the inspiration photo for this challenge…

The bicycle was stamped with a kraft colored ink and white Pan Pastel was added to the bike, leaving some of the print visible beneath a veil of white pastel pigment.  Some of the stamped lines were reinforced or thickened with a Copic.  I prefer the slightly thicker and thiner lines, to equal and consistent lines found in so many stamps.  The basket’s floral bouquet was stamped onto white card stock and bits of green were colored with some more Pan Pastel and the pink was made with a Copic marker.  Some random grass was also added with a few different shades of green pastels…

The interesting font of this sentiment, lead me to choose it.  Stylish and sort of ‘loose’ in it’s feel, it is in keeping with the style of this card…

Some tiny, bright pink rhinestones came out of my stash, to accent the ‘i’ in one word and the banners.

I hope you will join us in this challenge and the chance to win a prize from Crafty Secrets!

Blessings and hugs,
