warms the heart…

Hello again!  I’m popping in twice today, to share twice as much papery love!  The new challenge at My Artistic Adventures is  about ‘warming the heart’.  I created a banner that I will send by post, with messages that I hope will warm someone’s heart!..

PaperPrimrose1

I had a blast, using Heather’s ‘Red Romantic Victorian Vintage Banner Bases’ for each tag.  I love the mix of white swiss dots on a field of red, punctuated by random pink roses!  I must explain, we have had very unusual weather the past 3 days…gentle rain under grey skies, continuously, followed by thick, thick fog today!  Bright sunny weather is the norm around here and so I didn’t get my photos taken far enough in advance.  My indoor photos with insufficient light, have dulled down the colors.  I did manage to get one close-up that fairly, accurately reflects the color palette of various shades of reds, punctuated with pinks in this next photo. The rest of the line-up aren’t so accurate…

Each of the 5 tags that make up this banner has the digital tag base mounted onto a cream tag that I cut and eighth of an inch larger in every dimension.  Each tag also has a cream, scalloped heat that was die cut and a heart that was die cut out of the tag printed paper.  On top of this combo, is a cut out heart from the ‘Conversation Hearts Images Medium Vintage Valentine’s Day Valentine tags’

Looking at each tag from left to right, you may be able to see that the ‘conversation hearts’ were cut out and popped up with foam tap.  These hearts were accented with Liquid Pearls in Bisque.  The die cut cream hearts were accented with Liquid Pearls in Ruby Red…

The next tag is the ballerina.  Between each tag is a cluster of ribbons and trims.  When working with a single color, I find it much more appealing to have variations of that color.  This banner has warm reds, cool reds, cranberry, ruby red, hot pink, primary red and other reds that caught my eye…

The center tag was made without the dotted red, die cut heart and instead of a ‘conversation heart’, I used a cupid from the,‘Victorian Vintage Valentine’s Day Shabby Images’

This sweet little bird is the focus of the fourth tag.  You may have noticed that random ribbons or trims have paper hearts dangling from them here and there.  These wonderful fold-over hearts are on Heather’s Etsy site (Conversation Hearts Images Card bases VintageValentine’s Day Valentine tags) and I just had to use them.  They’re easy to miss, as they’re the second sheet included in this listing.  I think they add so much to the finished effect!…

These crossed keys complete the fifth and final tag.  Please join us for this ‘heart warming’ challenge!

Warm hugs and blessings,
