summer dreams…

Hello dear friends.  The Shabby Tea Room’s new challenge is hosted by Tina and called ‘Summer Dreams’.  She has selected this inspiration photo and asked that we create a card or project with a home and/or garden theme with flowers and colors from the photo.  I have to apologize because I am currently traveling and crafting from a small suitcase.  Inevitably, I left some things behind.  One of those ‘things’ was a selection of patterned papers for this Tea Cottage made from a fabulous template from Creations By AR!  So, my apologies that I haven’t been able to make a yummy pink and white cottage as I had planned.  I had to resort to the only suitable papers I have on hand, in a completely different color way!…

This darling Tea Cottage was cut by hand (no big tools in my little suitcase ;) and was really fun to construct using double sided super sticky tape…

The ‘foundation’ below the doorway pulls down to dispense tea bags.  Since my conscious wouldn’t let me take tea bags from a restaurant, I’m asking you to imagine it!  I added some die cut pieces that I have with me, from this paper collection and a single rhinestone (though I would have preferred to add more!  The white picket fence is optional, but I couldn’t resist it.  This will eventually be given to someone along the way, so I hope to make a stop in a market really soon…

The entire roof removes to fill the cottage.  The sweet little window under the gable adds a nice touch too.  I can see myself making more of these charming cottages and gifting tea to friends.  Next time…a really frilly, girly version!

Sending blessings and ((hugs)) along the way.
