rainbows and raindrops…

Hello everyone and welcome to the newest Shabby Tearoom Challenge!  This week’s challenge is inspired by this photo…

To join us for this challenge, create a card or project that is inspired by this photo.  I used two new Paper Sweeties stamps to create my ‘clean and simple’ card (nope, don’t call 911~ I promise I’m fine!)…

The sentiment and the cloud with raindrops came from the Showering You With Love stamp set.  The sweet little birds sharing the umbrella and a kiss are from Splish Splash.  I decided to use bursts of the rainbow color as in the inspiration photo.  They float in a sea of black and white to make the colors really pop.  I stamped the umbrella image once on the card and again on a scrap.  The second stamping is the one I colored with my Copic markers, then cut it our and popped it up just a little on the card.  The cloud and raindrop stamp was stamped once on the card and a second time on a scrap.  I cut out the cloud of the second one and adhered it to the card, then stamped just the raindrops, for a second time.  The rainbow selection of Copic’s were used on the raindrops as well.  This card still needed a little something, so I coated the umbrella and the raindrops with Glossy Accents to give them a wet look.

If you can find a little crafting time, please join us for this colorful challenge!

For additional fun, I’m also entering this card into the following challenges;

Blessings and ((hugs)),

  • That’s so different for you Rebecca but I really like it. What a great card to cheer up someone.

  • Holly+Saveur

    love how you make CAS cards too!

  • Loving all your most recent makes Rebecca. Sorry I have been missing, I was ill for a while and then things have just not got caught up yet. A busy month ahead too. Judy x

  • GREAT take on the STR challenge, Rebecca, and a DARLING little card in all its “tweetness” (giggle, I could not help myself). I especially like that the “rain theme” is colored like a rainbow. Sometimes we forget that the inconveniences or difficulties are our true rainbows in life.
