blog hop for the guys…

Hello and welcome to the Craft-Dee BowZ designer bloghop!  We are designing for ‘The Guy in Your Life’, something that many paper crafters find challenging.  By hopping through this blog hop, you will find lots of wonderful ideas so you’ll be ready for the next birthday, congratulations, anniversary or any other reason that requires a wonderfully masculine card.

I love using ribbon and you know I love to make bows, but with a ‘guy card’ a bit of restraint is in order!  I used both a wide organza ribbon and some twisted paper cording on this clearly masculine card…

The ribbon is folded accordion style, in progressively shorter lengths and adhered to the card face.  The twisted paper cording was made into a triple looped bow on my Craft-Dee BowZ tool.  Usually a multi looped bow has a very feminine look, but the change of material keeps it from being too ‘pretty’ for a masculine card…

A pen nib and a dangling pocket watch (it’s actually a dimensional sticker) also add to the masculine appeal…

The sentiment is spelled out in alphabet stickers that sport a typewriter style of font.  The surface of the letters are covered in a deep coppery color…

The card base is a heavy weight, shimmery copper color and while it ties in well to the coppery organza ribbon and the coppery glittered letters, I didn’t want it for the inside paper.  I cut and scored the fold line for the front panel,  before using an edge punch to add a decorative element.

Here’s the blog hop lineup.
