celebrate…

Hello and welcome.  This week at The Shabby Tea Room, the theme is ‘Celebration’.  This is the inspiration photo and we are challenged to create a project that uses pink, flowers and lace…

As part of the design team, I am also using some Digital Papers by Janet, who is represented on Etsy and is this week’s sponsor.  I have used the larger banners from ‘Sweet Banners 1’ and the smaller banners from, ‘Shabby Chic Banners 3’…

After printing the banners, they were mounted onto solid card stock.  The larger banners were then mounted onto pink and white striped patterned paper.  Using scalloped scissors, I added lovely scallops.  Using a single, medium sized, gold doily, I cut sections of the motifs and added some gold to each section…

I punched, pink star flowers, one for each banner, adhered them to the sections and topped them with dimensional roses…

Going through my collection of ribbon and trim scraps, bits were added to the joins for some whimsey.  Lovely, fluffy pink bows were added to each end and this fun banner is ready to add cheer to the next celebration!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you will join this ‘Celebration’ challenge!

Sending you sunny summer hugs and blessings,

  • So very pretty!! I love the trailing ribbons and your use of the gold doily …

  • LOVE your banner…those digi images are FABulous.

  • Oh WOW – this banner is even more scrumptious than the image of that cake! Your use of the gold doily is positively BRILLIANT! I was looking at it before reading the description wondering what kind of chain you had used. Hard to believe it was all cut from a single doily – that’s some serious fussy cutting. 🙂 Love all the layers to each pennant and how you layered the roses on top of punched flowers – another genius idea and one that I’ll incorporate into a future project. LOVE LOVE LOVE the various ribbon scraps and those luscious fat pink bows at the ends. This is a gorgeous project, Rebecca, and should be kept out all year long!
