a tag card & bookmark…

Hello everyone~ Today I have a birthday, tag card that delivers a bookmark as well.  While a I appreciate how handy an e-reader is for certain circumstances, I adore the feel of a book in my hands.  There is an excitement about embarking on a new journey with a physical book, that the electronic version just can’t elicit!   I created this tag style birthday card that houses a sturdy bookmark for a fellow bibliophile!..

This tag card has a back panel that is scored along the top, just under the arch and was adhered to the face of the card above the score line.  The face is covered in a paper from the Vintage Floral paper collection and the seed packet is stamped on another paper from the same collection.  The seed packet stamp is from the Garden Seed Packets stamp set…

I cut the paper larger than the stamped packet design and turned it into a packet with an open top.  The center oval was removed to allow the bookmark to show through…

The bookmark was made with an arched top and embossed with gold and one of the flourishes found in the Chalkboard Birthday’s  stamp set.  I curved the stamp to fit the curve of the tag…got to love clear stamps!…

Some distress inking around the edges, a grommet through the top of the card, a triple bow of hand dyed seam binding and a punched butterfly dressed up with some glitter complete this card.  There are so many versatile stamps at IBS and the paper collections are gorgeous and growing!

Thanks for stopping by~

((hugs)) and blessings,

Rebecca
