lilacs for you…

Hello Everyone~  I’m happy to share a card I’ve created that uses one of my favorite IBS stamp sets, ‘Spring Lilacs‘ along with the new patterned papers in the ‘Spring Lilacs’ 6×6 designer paper pad

I began with the stamped lilac bough image, coloring it with alcohol inks, then fussy cutting the image…

The patterned papers all coordinate, so I created a background using three different sheets, layering some old vellum rescued from a book jacket to add some age.  One of the background panels has a punched edge.  My old button jar yielded up some buttons that just needed to be stitched onto this card…

These lilacs were laid onto a stamped postcard design, cut into a tag shape,  just because it made my vintage heart happy…

The bottom edge of the postcard is trimmed with  a velvet trim and then some half pearls and some lilac satin finished dots…

You know how I love to mix shades of a single color, so this bow was made of a red violet and a bluer violet shade of hand dyed seam binding.  A button was stitched over the center and a tiny tag was tucked into the bow.

Thanks so much for visiting and thank you for your very kind and generous comments~ They warm my heart!

((hugs)) and Blessings,

Rebecca

  • Simply lovely… one thing I will miss from the family home of 40 years, sold at the end of last year, is the lilac which used to grow up to my bedroom window every spring. What a gorgeous card, Rebecca!
