Hello there and welcome to one of my first Inspired By Stamping posts! If you’re not familiar with this company, let me tell you a bit about it. Located in Australia and led by the talented Joanna Munster, IBS produces high quality photo polymer stamps in a range of terrific designs. I have a few of their stamps that I purchased shortly after the company opened and have enjoyed them since. It is a delight to anticipate being able to create with their new release stamps each month!
In the card making world, you know it’s September when holiday cards appear ) This card uses a sentiment from the new ‘Holiday Sentiments’ set. It is full of versatile Christmas & New Year sentiments that are designed in interesting shapes and a variety of fonts. For this card, I selected one that made me think about a bell shape…
This stamp originally had another line straight across the bottom saying, ‘and best wishes for the holiday season’. Because I wanted to fit the sentiment onto these customized bell shapes and keep a curve along the bottom of the sentiment, I masked the line with removable tape (by 3M), inked it up with watermark ink and then removed the tape before stamping. It was then embossed with white embossing powder. You can download my bell templates HERE and print them directly onto your card stock or onto copier paper to cut out and use as templates to outline on your paper. If you print them at 100% size, you will get identical bells that will fit this stamp perfectly. The little ‘clappers’ inside the bells are just a small punched circle, cut in half and adhered…
The distress dotted background paper is an IBS digital download. The accent strip of little candy canes across the top is homemade, hand stamped wash tape! I applied some double sided tape to crinkled tissue paper, trimmed the edges to the width of the tape and then stamped this sweet design with another new stamp from an IBS set called, ‘Holiday Washi Tapes’. I love being able to make customized washi tape in the color and pattern that’s just right for my project and in just the right amount! These candy canes coordinate perfectly with the crossing candy cane accent in the sentiment stamp. Do you see what I mean about this company??!!!
I love this time of year, looking forward to the autumn and winter holidays and still having plenty of time to craft in a leisurely way! Give some thought to getting a jump on your holiday cards if you haven’t already begun.
Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing what the rest of the team has created!
