layers and a word…

This week at the Frilly and Funky challenge blog, Sue is challenging us to ‘layer it on and share a word’.  Lots of layers and the focus must be a word!  I just love how my talented teamies keep coming up with unusual and thought provoking challenges!

RebeccaF&F(1)

I began with an extra large kraft tag, folding it across the top and adding a layer of Distress Crackle Paint in picket fence…one of my very favorite paint finishes!  I tucked a gorgeous deep lace under the fold and covered the tag with paper scraps in creams and whites. A layer of white distress stain toned some of the papers down and unified the background.  I stamped the large ‘Fabulous Flourishes’ stamp off center, with walnut stain distress ink and spritzed it with water to fuzz the boundaries…

Some color was added to the stamp in soft sepia tones with Copics.  After deciding on my word, I found some copper glittered alphas to command the space…

I couldn’t resist some champagne glass glitter…love the soft glow against the whites, creams and copper…

The flower was made out of some Melissa Frances zipper ribbon, coiled in two circles.  There’s a layer of tea dyed cheesecloth peeking out from behind and a thin swirling flourish cut from copper metallic card stock and cut in two before being added to the tag.

Thanks Sue for a fun and challenging challenge!

*Hugs*
