just pretty….

That is the title of this week’s challenge at The Shabby Tea Room, hosted by Tracey.  This is the inspirations photo…

and we are asked to create a card or project using the colors in the photo along with stripes and a flower.  I also used a file called ‘Rolled Blossom, scalloped’ from My Time Made Easy, to create the flowers on both of these tags and another of their files called ‘BFF Valentine Tags’ to create these lovely tag variations…

In my paper stash, I found a white Bazzill paper that was embossed with clear stripes.  Using some distress ink and a piece of foam, I turned the exposed paper into pink stripes…

This sweet tag has a rolled flower cut from lightly patterned paper that was then inked along it’s edges before being rolled into shape.  A cluster of small pearl beads were hot glued into the center.  The leaves were die cut (again from a patterned paper) and the back of the folded leaf was inked with distress ink.  Some fine, white cotton lace was applied to the bottom edge and a sentiment was stamped onto some plain white card stock and cut into a banner.  It was curved upwards in the middle before being adhered to the tag.  There are two separate pieces of hand dyed bias tape used at the top…

This tag is shaped differently from the first.  I love it’s scalloped shoulders.  I cut this blossom from solid card stock and inked the inside edge before rolling it, to add depth to the shadows of this flower.  It is also more loosely rolled and has a single pearl at it’s center.  I took a length of delicate cotton lace and using a running stitch along the straight edge, gathered it loosely around the blossom.  The sentiment is stamped and tails added to this banner as well.  While it doesn’t show in this photo, this banner also has a curve to it, raising it off of the tag.

Tracey’s name for this challenge is just right.  These are simple and just pretty!
