Inspired By Stamping in the New Year…

I am delighted to be a guest designer at Inspired By Stamping!  It is a wonderful stamp company along with a terrific challenge blog site, owned, operated and designed by the uber talented Joanna Munster.  Shipping is easy and affordable, so check out her beautiful stamps.

To begin the New Year, she has presented us with a gorgeous photo inspiration and challenged us to create a card or project with these colors and image.

You know how sometimes, you just have to sit and think while staring at the inspiration?  Not this time!  I reached for a new die that I’ve been eager to work with and made three coordinating little match books, filled with handmade trinket pins to send as gifts to my crafty friends…

I cut all three from kraft colored card stock (in two sizes) and then had some great fun embellishing and filling these sweet little gifts…

I used paper scraps for each of these.  This first one was out of plain lavender card stock, stamped with postal images and kraft ink…

Inside, a rectangle of wool felt holds a trio of trinket pins.  I used corsage pins and end caps that I found at Michael’s, along with some resin blossoms I purchased on Etsy, followed by a random bead and then a #8 silver lined seed bead~Voila!  A dab of ‘Best Ever Glue’ along the shaft of the pin and then I slid the beads over the glue..easy, right?  I did make the little butterfly you see on the cover, but that will be a tutorial in another post…

The second project is covered in some printed paper, wrapped with some hand dyed bias tape, topped with another layer of cotton lace and a double bow.  Another little tag on this one and a vintage resin bird, colored with some alcohol inks finish it off…

Inside are some more trinket pins, this time with some jeweled rondels between the round beads and resin flowers.  They really are so pretty in real life~…

This last, slightly smaller matchbook is one of the two sizes the die produces.  There are soooo many ideas I have for these little booklets!  For this cover, I used some velvety leaves with two paper flowers and hand dyed bias tape tied around the top, along with a double bow, flower and little glass heart that dangles down onto the front.   If it weren’t for time constraints, I would still be making variations of this project!

Hope it leaves you with some ideas and a desire to play in this challenge!  I LOVE to see all the variations we all come up with, from the same inspiration!

Have a wonderful day and my best wishes for a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!

*Hugs* and blessings,

Rebecca
