This week at The Shabby Tea Room, Starr is hosting a challenge called ‘Elegance’. Coming from a gracious southern lady, the match is perfect! We are challenged to produce a card or project that uses the colors in this beautiful inspiration photo, along with a ribbon, bow and a flower…
I chose to play with a shallow, ‘shadow box’ design…
I created a 1/4″ deep box, with a die cut circle on the front. A ring of ivy leaves was die cut twice, from silver foiled card stock. One ring was placed around the circle opening and the second die cut was snipped apart with portions applied to the ring of leaves, adding some asymmetry and a more flowing appearance…
Inside this little ‘box’, the sentiment was stamped and ringed with some colored chalk…
A white silk ribbon bow and some paper flowers complete the design. This ‘box’ was then adhered to a card base. I love that this card would be suitable for a range of occasions. It will work equally well for a wedding, birthday or anniversary and certainly stand out from the crowd!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a terrific week.
*Hugs*
Rebecca

SOOO Sweet gorgeous and elegant!
LOVE it Rebecca!
It would sure stand out!
STUNNING!!!!
I LOVE the simple ‘elegance’ of your creation! It’s quite stunningly beautiful, not over or under ‘done’. A real heirloom to treasure.
I love the way you used the shadow box idea!! It’s so elegant! The off-centered chalking on the back of the box is genius- it looks like the glow of the moon and I adore the effect! Truly elegant Rebecca!
Rebecca, as always, your work inspires us so much! I have a folder of silver and gold CS, and never thought to use any of it any way other than making a card itself with it! I will now drag some out and use them with some of my dies. They are a big deal in my life, then put them in a box and forget them! THanks for showing us what can be done with imagination, and a LOT of talent!
Enjoy your week. Hugs, Pat
