This week at The Shabby Tea Room, we’re creating cards or projects, using the colors from this inspiration photo, along with roses and fabric or ribbon…
I created a small version of this handbag and I’m giving you my template to make it super quick and easy. You can download the bag template HERE. The bag is cut from a single 8-1/2″x 11″ sheet of card stock…
A lace background stamp was used to emboss a lace pattern onto the surface of the bag. The paper is a warm cream color and the embossing is in white…
There are a mix of flower embellishments~ a chiffon rose, a paper flower, a white burlap blossom and a pale pink flower that I made from glass pearls and a faceted clear bead in the center. I love what can be done with hot glue!!!…
I used some flower shaped grommets that I’ve had for years and some large jump rings to create the handle. The handle was cut from a rectangle of embossed cream cardstock and measures 6″x 5/8″. I used a corner rounder on all four corners to create nicely rounded ends and then set brads about a quarter of an inch in from each end. Cotton lace trim was used for a bow, velvet leaves and some more pearls, hot glued for flower centers…
Inside this little purse is a small gift of three, quick-to-make gift cards and envelopes. It could hold six, but I wanted this to be super quick!
I used some favorite papers from ‘Digital Papers’ on Etsy. The card bases and envelopes are all from the ‘Antique Paper’ collection, cut to 3″x 6″, scored in the middle and folded. I love the wonderful, vintage neutral patterns…
I used the negative and positive portions of some die cuts…
along with some scraps of card stock…
I kept these cards intentionally simple in order to make a start to finish gift in 30 minutes! I also made a template for 3″x 3″ envelopes which I made from different paper patterns from the same digital file of ’Antique Papers’ that were printed on ordinary copy paper. You can download the envelope template HERE.
This is a fun a fast project if you assemble your supplies in advance. If you give it a try, I would love to know how it went for you!
Hugs and blessings,
Rebecca

Stunning!!!! Stunning!!!! Stunning!!!!
Rebecca, thank you so much for sharing such a lovely gift idea! I immediately thought of how much my sister would love this special gift! Thank you also for your willingness to share the gift of your beautiful patterns.
I am so impressed by your lacy embossing background. Everytime that I try to emboss a large area, my embossing will not appear as uniformed as it shows in your photos. If you have the chance, would you be willing to share your embossing technique? I am somewhat new to using powders and I do have several products that I am using to try to achieve your level of expertise.
Thank you once again Rebecca for brightening my day with your inspiring projects.
Daar Rebecca, love your work, but am unable to click on the template to down load it, will have to keep trying,
