a vintage challenge sketch…

Happy New Year!  To start off this brand new year at Vintage Udfordring, Andreas designed a wonderfully layered sketch to inspire our creativity.  My dear friend Holly, who lives in the Netherlands sent some of my very most favorite patterned papers..ever! and I had such fun creating this card with a few of them…

The papers come from a collection called ‘Wintergarden’ by a company called Panduro.  They are well known in Europe, but not so much here in the states.  I adore their designs…every single one of them!  The hardest part is selecting just a few.  I want to work with all of them…all at once!  I do feel like a little kid when I look through these papers!

I thought I would give you a close up of a little secret time saver I used on this card.  I cut the oval accent piece out by hand and wanted to stitch it onto the card. I don’t have the right shade of red floss, so I used my paper piercer to make four slightly irregular holes and drew in the ‘floss’ with a marker.  From a typical reading distance, it really does look like a rustic cross stitch!  That fabulous coordinating flower button was another one of the fabulous presents that Holly sent~ thank you, thank you, thank you Holly!!

Wishing you good health, happiness and prosperity in the New Year!

*Hugs*

Rebecca
