vintage charms…

My heart went pitter-patter when I saw this inspiration photo, chosen by The Shabby Tea Room’s challenge host, the very talented Tracey.  It’s gorgeous…

and soooo inspiring!!  The challenge is to create a card or project using colors from the photo, with the addition of a flower and a charm.  A truly delightful challenge!..

I began by choosing my sentiment, from ‘You Make Me Smile’.  It’s full of really lovely statements, like this one.  Then I started die cutting some burlap and veil netting, to create a special blossom.

I made a little envelope from some beautifully patterned paper and used an edge cutting die to shape the flap and an 18K gold pen to add some brightness to the edge. I repeated the gold line along the outside of the base card.

I over-stamped the pattern on the envelope with ‘signed, sealed, delivered’ and a postage mark in classic kraft ink and added some soft tones to white paper flowers.  All the edges of the paper layers are inked and the some are heavily distressed as well.  I used two tones of glimmer mist on the half doily and on the background patterned paper.  In real life, it really glows!  The surprise is the copper mist.  It’s outstanding against the pink and works so well with the touches of gold.  Over at The Wild Orchid challenge, you can participate if you have some gold or silver that is visible, along with at least one WOC product.  I’ve got both, so this is going into that challenge as well.

Then, I needed a gift to go along with this card.  Taking my cue from the inspiration photo and rummaging around my supplies, I made this bookmark…

I am blessed with truly wonderful friends and this little combo is destined for a dear friend who surprised me with a very unique card stand that is in my crafting space, holding my favorite cards.  This friend is..’sweet’, just as the charm says!…

Thank you!  I’m so glad you stopped by for a visit!

*Hugs*
