shabby tags…

When I saw this week’s new sketch for Retro Sketches, I knew just what I wanted to do…that rarely happens!

My favorite tiny tags came to mind…

some tiny sentiments, a new favorite 6×6 paper, a new resin embellishment, a few inches of a favorite linen ribbon and some stitching made a very quick card with my beloved shabby feel…

Since I decided to use the entire 6 x 6 patterned paper (the edges were too beautiful to cut off), I matted it with a light cocoa colored card stock.  That made it too large to have the matting and back sheet out of the same paper.  It would have needed to be 12.5″ x 6.25″.  To get around the problem and turn it into a positive, I cut a piece of white card stock about an 2 inches wider than the dimensions of the front mat, scored it and then punched a decorative edge.  A length of the same ribbon from the front was also added to the left side of the page.  I like this simple, extra touch.  I think this is a sketch I will use again.

Hugs and blessings~

Rebecca
