At The Shabby Tea Room, we are using this totally adorable photo for inspiration this week~
The challenge is to use colors from the image and a flower. My challenge was also to use the Paper Sweeties stamp set,’Too Cute to Spook’, so I dressed ‘Emma’ for Halloween a là, my version, of the inspiration photo…
I thought this cutie would enjoy a bit of tulle tutu (it was white and I colored it with Copics) and her very own magic spell wand (a trinket pin)! I tweaked her nose to mimic the sweetie in the photo…
A tiny tag and pumpkin button carry this sweet, little greeting, layered on top of black jute string and a hand dyed seam binding double bow. I cut a 2″ wide band of open, ‘cob-webby’ orange trim in half, to use at the top and bottom of this card. Three different papers from the paper pad collection are used on this card. I’ve been enjoying the mix and match of this collection. The chipboard flower behind the figure, was gessoed, then covered with layers of distress inks, followed by Rock Candy on the petals and Stickles for the center.
My husband and I usually sit outside on Halloween evening, so we can see all the costumes and enjoy the little sweeties who come in search of treats. Our evenings are now wonderfully comfortable and other than being mosquito dinner, it’s delightful to be out of doors!! Most years it’s just about now that we start living parts of our lives outside once again.
Thanks so much for taking your time to visit and for leaving your sweet comments~ I really appreciate it!
*Hugs*
Rebecca

Gorgeous gorgeous card … The little wand is perfect! It’s far to wet and cold for us now … in fact we have only had about 3 evenings when we could sit out this year … such a shame … I love balmy summer evenings … we just don’t get them!
What a wonderful interpretation of that adorable photo! You really did a great job…I just love all the layering in this card! xo Evie
