Linda has supplied Frilly and Funky with a fabulous Tic Tac Toe challenge this week. I chose the line that includes lace, metallic distress stain and glitter…
I used the new ‘Tarnished Brass’ Distress Stain to color a luscious white lace into a vintage trim with a deep florentine gold finish. A craft mat is perfect to daub the distress stain into the lace. Saturating both sides gives the best coverage and eliminates white spots. I went over each area to get the full saturation I desired and then used a heat tool to dry the trim so I didn’t have to stop for it to air dry. There was a thin straight edge on the lace band that I cut off and reserved for use on the inside. The distress stain was also added to the postage stamp edged tag from the Vintage Cardstock Stickers collection from Melissa Frances.
All the patterned papers for this card are from ‘Home for the Holidays’ 6 x 6 paper collection. I die cut a scalloped edge from the red and cream houndstooth pattern and edged the scallops with champagne glass glitter. Some small smokey topaz rhinestones punctuate the scallop. The fluffy, triple bow is made from hand dyed seam binding and accented with some frosty sprigs and berries…
The edges have been dry brushed with white acrylic paint. I inserted a punched line of cream card stock between two of the layers…
and on the inside panel, the reserved edge of the trim, adds a lovely touch.
Thanks for joining us in this wonderful challenge, full of possibilities! I’m really looking forward to seeing all the creativity that pours out!!
*Hugs*
Rebecca
