I am so happy to share another piece of great news… I’ve been accepted as a designer with another site that I love! It is based in Denmark and is called, ‘Vintage Udfordring‘ which means ‘vintage challenge’! With a name like that, you know it has a place in my heart! Thanks to translation abilities on the site, language isn’t a barrier and there are designers and participants from many different countries.
The newest challenge #48 is about tags…handmade tags with a vintage feel (no digital tags) can be entered. Because of current demands (still clearing out my parents home), I just realized that I needed to prepare a tag! Sometimes, I really enjoy the challenge of not over-thinking the task and just going at it! So, I decided this is one of those times!! This tag came together very quickly, as I had some ribbon pre-dyed. Preparing the pearl drops went quickly, as I used commercial head pins. I’ve been drawn to work in pink, a lot lately and made this…
It began with a sheet of 6×6″ patterned paper that I cut freehand, backed with card stock and began to embellish ‘at whim’. The pearl swirl, velvet leaves and flowers were all commercially made. The tiny tag was a blank die cut that I had left over, so there was time to add a special touch to this tag. Drop pearls attached to the trim add movement and a lovely feminine touch. If you’ve never prepared a bead or pearl ‘drop’, you can see how to do this HeRe. To keep the pearls from pulling on the trim, I skipped the usual jump rings that would join the drops, and chose to attach them to the trim with a continuous line of stitching, following along the very edge and going from point to point.
I do love items that have the look and feel of some history and always, always the work of the hand.
Thanks so much for visiting! Hoping you find some creative time today~
*Hugs*
Rebecca

An exquisite tag, Rebecca!! I love each of the embellishments- the pearl drops kicked it over the top for me!!!! Gorgeous!!
That is just stunning! This is such a wonderful group for you to design for, it is just up your alley! It is a great outlet for you with the stress and “other” things going on with your parents home, etc.
You will do a wonderful job for the new group, and they will wonder why you were not with them to help them grow, earlier!
Hugs, Pat
OOPS! I forgot to ask about the back. What did you do to finish the backside? I am sure it is special, whatever you did!
Hugs, Pat
