This week at CR84FN challenge #63 is all about denim, tan and brown. Here is the inspiration photo and there are lots of inspiring samples made by the talented design team. No shortage of ideas, to get your mojo going!…
I was taken with the casual and comfortable feeling I get from this color combination and the photos above. I just love door and window images and a ‘door’ stamp that I haven’t used in ages just popped into my head, so off I went…
I used a screen door stamp and had fun paper piecing the frame …
It just had to open up to expose the theme. It’s is a card for a new home, but would work really well for someone returning. I love the effect of the inside ‘wallpaper’. It began with a beautiful cream and white brocade that I over-stamped with a ticking design. To keep it a bit shabby, I used a distress ink, lightly stamped…
The clapboard siding was embossed with woodgrain, cut apart and lightly inked before being reassembled. The door opens to the right and the card opens to the left.
The large star in the inspiration photo kept coming to mind, so I absolutely needed one on the door. I discovered something interesting.. I applied a generous coat of alcohol ink to a metal alloy brad and took the heat gun to it. I held the heat to it long enough to bubble up. It looks just like the vintage spatterware enamel that costs the equivalent of a few essential body parts! An aged brass brad was used for the door knob.
Hope your day holds some creative time and my thanks for taking a little bit of your day to visit!
*Hugs*
Rebecca
