creative candy…

At The Shabby Tea Room, we’re using this gorgeous photo selected by Fran,  as inspiration for ‘Creative Candy’.  I just love the colors in it and all the fabulous trims and embellishments it contains…

I received a new paper pad collection of ‘A Ladies Diary’ by Graphic 45 and couldn’t resist working with this image of a very elegant woman, dressed in satin and print and fur!  It’s full of elegant papers and images and it seems that when it comes to paper, I’m a kid who can’t resist playing with her new toy!

The flower embellishments are cut from one of the papers and I used a treasured  hoarded bit of elegant trim that shines and ‘drips’ as beautifully as the satin of the dress.

A beautiful mother-of-pearl button reminds me of the moon’s glow and is tucked above the sentiment tag, between the flowers.  There is a wide band of vintage satin ribbon that I also bit the bullet and used!  It’s a soft, pale aqua blue with a very high shine.  It puts the newer satins to shame, but doesn’t photograph very well~

Thanks for stopping by~ hope you have a wonderful day.

*Hugs*

Rebecca

Gorgeous card!Would love to have all the items on the inspiration photo..such gorgeous soft and sweet colors.

  • Beautiful! But, oh good golly…I’m addicted to the 8×8 pad of this collection, and pulled that SAME image, but from the smaller pad, to make a card for this week…too funny!!

  • Rebecca, that is too lovely!!! I am curious about how you colored her satin dress.

I have never seen a button used as a moon before, and think that is beyond clever! Looks lovely, tucked in there.

I enjoyed the cards below, also. You are such a great artist!

    Have a good week.
    Hugs, Pat
