a vintage ‘happy anniversary’…

There are two great challenges that I wanted to play with.  One is Wild Orchid’s Challenge #55, called ‘Round and Round’.  They’re asking for a round feature and you can see the site HERE.  The other challenge is a sketch from Waltzing Mouse.  You can visit them HERE and this is the sketch…

Instead of the usual dimensional envelope, I did something a little different for the presentation of the card…

It is made from a sheet of Webster’s patterned paper that I’ve been hoarding saving.  I used the entire 12 x 12 to make this pocket.  The flaps at the top of the pocket are the reverse side of this beautifully patterned sheet.

It was such fun to embellish with paper flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima.  Some sprays of pearls from Michael’s and a double bow of natural silk ribbon complete it.

The card is based on the Waltzing Mouse sketch.  I took the liberty of die cutting the top arch instead of keeping it square.  The vintage photo is from Pion Designs of Sweden.

If you look closely, you can see a horizontal band of kraft paper stamped with VersaMark and a lace stamp from Anna Griffin.  The ring of trim that surrounds the image is antique and I’ve been ‘saving’ it until today!  That lovely font used for the sentiment is from Stampin’Up’s Something to Celebrate set.

Thanks for visiting!  See you soon~

*Hugs*

Rebecca
