three in one…

I generally don’t combine challenges and when I do, it’s only two.  Because this week is speeding by quickly enough to break the sound barrier, I decided to let the laundry, the legal system and lawyers sit for a while longer while I combine three challenges.  City Crafters week #115 is called ‘Hello Doily’.  It requires the use of doilies without using paper, die cut or crocheted doilies.  Papertrey Ink‘s Make It Monday challenge #73 is about stamping on patterned paper.  The Play Date Cafe’s challenge #139 is all about gold, nude and silver!  Well here goes…

I die cut the card base with Spellbinder’s ‘Grand Labels One’, using paper from My Minds Eye ‘Tres Jolie’ collection.  It is a heavy weight card stock with a gorgeous mottled gold surface (that the photos didn’t do justice to~  the photographers fault).   With card ‘toppers’ in mind, I scored it down the middle to allow the other layers to extend beyond the card base.

The next layer was cut with PTI’s ‘Mega Mat Stack #4 and a paper called ‘Love Notes’ by Heidi Swapp.  It’s a cool grey and white grid and I liked it’s contrast to all the rounded corners and doilies.  I gold embossed one of the larger doily layers from PTI’s ‘Delightful Doily’ stamp set and it peeks out below the final layer. The last layer was cut with ‘Labels 21′ from Spellbinders from a softly swirled design paper from Anna Griffin (#0270).  This top layer was embossed with silver, using different components from Delightful Doilies.  The sentiment was taken from PTI’s ‘Tag It #3′ stamp set.  For a little added touch, I punched two hole into the card and ran some 1/4″ silk ribbon from PTI.  I left it in it’s natural color.

Oh how I hate to leave my play table, but now, duty calls….

*Hugs*

Rebecca
