I want to share some of the fun I’m having, playing with pockets and tags. I just returned home after dealing with some serious issues regarding my elderly mother. My sunglasses, keys and bag were dropped in their places and I made a bee line to my play table! This little packet came together quickly. The slowest part was stitching the buttons onto the card. I love the look of the stitching, so it is time well spent in my book!
I began with a kraft paper bag, embossing some bands that have a ‘stitched’ appearance from the Nordic Winters stamp set by Waltzing Mouse. A number of stamps in this set are suitable year round. The white embossing was made with Filagree’s white, while the red is Zing’s rouge. The button card was stamped with images from Button Boutique and classic kraft ink, both by Papertrey Ink. This sack was tied with a length of seam binding and topped with a stitched button. The top edge was punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The kraft bag is set in a glassine envelope that was embossed with a single band of hearts from the same set that was used on bag above. The edge was punched with a heart and pinking design from Stampin’Up.
A large tag fits into the kraft sack. A Martha Stewart heart punch forms a handy tab to pull out. This tag is simply embellished with some Pink Paislee paper from the Sweetness collection and a single thin, embossed band at the top and again along the bottom edge.
This week’s challenge by CR84FN is inspired by the colors in this photo…
It is a happy and somewhat uncommon combination. I enjoyed working with it very much!
I’m also entering this project into the Simon Says, which is all about ‘Tags’ and you can see I love tags in all their forms!
Thanks for stopping by!
