Happy Monday Morning! I always look forward to the Shabby Tea Room‘s challenge. Today’s is no exception. It is a bit different from the vintage, romantic inspirations and themes, but inspired by this gorgeous photo. They’ve requested that submissions contain some stitching, buttons and twine or ribbon. I’m smitten with the colors and the wealth of ideas and patterns in this image!
Mojo Monday‘s challenge is also an intriguing one! I love the sketch they’ve provided for their 250th challenge.
Here is the card, inspired by these two challenges…
I began with the stained woodgrain of the table and translated it into a panel, stamped with the woodgrain background from PTI. Then I chose the colors for the panels and scoured my scrap drawer of ribbon snips to create the lower border.
I reached for one of my all time favorite quotes from Winston Churchill (‘Occasional Quotes’ by Stampin’Up) and used distress ink to color the circle. The yellow and turquoise scalloped circle was embossed with Zing’s turquoise powder and stamped with a design from Stampin’Up’s ‘Circle Circus’ set. It was punched out with a coordinating 1 3/4″, scalloped circled (also S.U.).
Some stitching accents, a flower made with two buttons and a scrap of eyelash yarn and paper leaves, complete this card. What a really fun way to begin the week! Thank you to The Shabby Tea Room and Mojo Monday for such great inspirations!!
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll be back soon~
