City Crafters’ challenge for this week is calling for a project with a ballerina. You can visit their blog HERE. I’ve had a vintage image of three tiny ballerinas, that has remained unused for some time. I couldn’t decide what sort of project to turn it into. I debated between a card, a wall hanging or a small box. This challenge pushed me to action! A small papier maché box from Hobby Lobby and this project started to come together…
To begin, I covered the box with some Anna Griffin patterned paper. Then I set the image into a ‘beaded ovals’ die cut from Spellbinders, that I embossed and colored through the die with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.
The tiny roses are from Kaisercraft and the little rose leaves were cut with Die-Namics ‘Royal Leaves’ die.
The edge of the lid and the body of the box were embellished with a pearl and lace trim from May Arts. I love how this trim works well over an edge or along a flat surface. Because the string of pearls is attached to the lace, it’s easy to apply.
Hope your weekend is lovely and thanks for stopping by!
