color me pretty challenge…

Good Morning!  I hope your holiday weekend was good.  I’m grateful for the opportunity to get to my playtable this morning!

The Shabby Tea Room has a ‘Color Me Pretty’ challenge this week.  You can visit the site HERE  to see the projects inspired by this photo…

This is my card…

I started by die cutting quilt squares with Papertrey Inks’ ‘Button Die Collection’, from Bazzills’ ‘Vintage Marketplace’ collection papers.  I love Melissa Frances embellishments, so I reached into a drawer and grabbed one of their resin wreaths. It is filled with a vintage image from their 5th Avenue Sticker Book.

I punched a heart from packaging cardboard and glittered it with glass glitter, topping it with a scrap of trim that reminds me of a crown.

Another ‘quilt’ square has a tiny Prima rose, mounted on a scalloped round (also a PTI die).  I stamped  ’with love’ onto this scrap of hand dyed silk ribbon.

Along the top edge, I backed a piece of lace with teal paper to show off the pattern.  I tied two double bows, then joined them together with the cord that’s threaded through the button.  A tiny turquoise, butterfly trinket pin is stuck into the center.

Thank you for stopping by.  Now, I’m off to the gym~ a girl has to have her priorities, create first!

*Hugs*

Rebecca
