I don’t usually create for more than one challenge at a time, but I was tempted today! The luscious colors of the Play Date Cafe and a sketch from Card Challenge together. For me, it makes it lots harder!!! It took more than twice as long to make this card, since the colors wanted to lead me in one direction and the sketch in another! They say stretching is good for us, so stretch I did! You can visit Play Date Cafe here and Card Patterns here. These are the inspirations…
This is my project.
It is a 6″ square card that is hinged at the top. I used raspberry fizz card stock from PTI, along with a bright orange from Bazzill. The circle is cut from Papertrey Inks’ 2008 Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper pad(still a current product). The circle and scallop dies are from Spellbinders’.
The felt flowers are cut with a Die-namics die and PTIs’ felt. The flourishes and butterfly dies are also from PTI. I used half pearls from Melissa Frances and the tiny paper clip has been inhabiting a drawer since I can’t remember when!
These ‘hot’ colors were fun to work with, since left to my own choices, I reach for very soft, hazy colors. I’m so glad there’s the entire spectrum to play with!
*Hugs*
Rebecca

Beautiful card! love the swirls, pearls and fantastic felt flowers! Great layout.
Such an awesome card!! My hat is off to you for making your beautiful card work with two challenges! I wrote today about how I’m multi-challenge challenged! (I’ll have to use that expression in another post!) I’m also in awe of how you can put layers and dimensionals together and make it look “right” and not cluttered. Mmm-waugh!
This is a winner of a card for sure, Rebecca! You’ve nailed both challenges.
Rebecca, I am proud of you for combining more than one challenge.
It turned out great! The flowers you made make my eyes happy. (good eye candy here!)
