Dear Friends,
Bear with me, while I give you a bit of background. Until last year, I owned a business where I spent heaps of time helping people to achieve their own creative visions. I did that for 30 years and mostly loved it but…. I was positively bursting to create for myself. My life has changed and now, I wake up each morning, thrilled to begin my day with papery and inky activities. It’s been five of the shortest months of my life, since I began this blog and have given myself permission to create abundantly. Now, with this in mind, you can imagine how it felt to receive an e-mail from P. Kelly Smith that began.. ‘It is with great delight that I notify you that you (yes, YOU!) are a winner of Paper Crafts magazine’s 2012 Stamping Royalty Card Contest! {Go ahead and scream!}’. Well scream I did!!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I can’t stop smiling! I wish I had some eloquent words, but as a dedicated paper crafter, I’m better at a visual expression of thanks…
It is one of those very rare times, when I was thinking that a digital animation of fireworks would be appropriate! Not having that skill yet, I’ve reverted to a hands-on, hand made card. I was looking at the inspiration from Play Date Cafe and their color story is gorgeous! From that, came the idea for this card. You can visit the site here.
I’m still giggling inside from the exciting news, but I think I had better give you the standard info! The quatrefoil die and layerz mat stack 5 are from Papertrey Ink. I used Stampin’ Ups basic grey and whisper white card stock. The stamps are from Papertrey Inks’ Mat Stack 5 set, the sentiment from Big Thanks. The inks are old olive, baja breeze and basic grey from SU. The buttons are PTI and the silver metallic floss is DMC.
Think I’ll be floating as I cook and prepare for tonights big dinner!
