a table full of good stuff….

Late last night, I was in the middle of trying to clean up my playtable and instead of sticking with the task at hand,  I wandered the internet and came upon a cardmaker named Iwona.  I remembered seeing some of her work quite some time ago.  Well, she now runs a blog with a weekly Saturday challenge at Random Acts of Creativity.  This challenge was just the distraction I didn’t know I wanted!

I had a 6 x 6 paper pack of ‘5th Avenue’, by Melissa Frances close at hand (a favorite since its’ release) and a new stamp set called ‘Glory Be’ from PTI, that I was itching to use.  It has old fashioned phrases like Mercy Me~ Good Heavens~ Oh, My Stars~ Land Sakes and many others.  I think it’s just adorable!  So…I took Iwonas’ sketch, these supplies and a few other favorites (that’s why I needed to clean my space) and made a card for this challenge.

I used the Edglits Adorning Accent die from Stampin Up, on the dotted strip, die cut leaves with Papertrey Inks’ Turning a New Leaf  set. I stamped the leaves with the coordinating stamp set, using VersaMark ink. The sentiment tag was die cut from Layerz Mat Stack 4, also from PTI.  The doily has a spritz of Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist.  The lovely bit of antique lace came from Vintage Goods on Etsy and a Prima flower that’s been waiting for an assignment!

I inked all the edges, some with Black Soot distress ink, some with Camomile from PTI and the sentiment tag with a combo of Baja Breeze (Stampin Up) and Black Soot.  The sentiment seems so versatile to me.  Belated birthday, congrats, get well, missing you…this sweet phrase could cover any of them.

It’s a gorgeous day today (close to 70°F) and so I have lots of errands that will get tended to!

Hope you have a wonderful day.
